Reddit, what is a small everyday task that you hate ?(r/AskReddit)
I have to stay clean-shaven for my job, and I HATED it. It hurt and was always a chore that I did last-minute before going to work. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy shaving now, and here’s why – I went retro. I flipped the bird to Gillette and their 35-dollar packs of cartridges that hurt after 3 uses. I bought a double-end razor, a ten-dollar pack of blades, a badger-hair brush and a tub of shaving soap. I look forward to shaving now, and it has become for me a luxurious ritual in manliness. Behold….. my shaving routine:
-
Put on some 50’s-ish music. Example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp2Hwi9qM48
-
Fill up the sink with hot water, in which I soak a washcloth, my razor and brush. www.amazon.com/Merkur-Heavy-Double-Razor-Included/…

-
Wash and heat up my face with the hot, wet towel.
-
Dab my brush in my tub of avacado shaving soap. www.amazon.com/Taylor-Old-Bond-Street-Avocado/dp/B…
-
Whip up the soap in a separate bowl or mug into a thick, creamy lather.
-
Laaaather that shit on. This is my favorite part. I feel like a character out of Mad Men.
-
Shave with your wonderfully sharp double-end razor. At this point, you should have already thrown out your pussy 6-blade Gillette razor that STILL tugs annoyingly at your hairs.

Rinse and towel off your face, look in the mirror with an approving, satisfied smile and congratulate yourself on being one classy motherfucker.
