The worst component of any PC: the printer. What in Mother Theresa’s douche bag is going on with printers? Help me find a good printer PLEASE!!(r/buildapc)
Bought the ~$100 black and white laser printer from brother. Have never NOT FUCKING ONCE had a problem. There is no issue with printers, there’s an issue with mass produced consumer grade shovel ware designed to sell you ink and waste your money.
Also, I don’t print much, maybe a couple sheets a week, but I haven’t had to replace the toner cart that comes with it in about a year. I did have to press “go” seven times to clear the automatic “cartridge is low, please replace” warning and continue to print, but even that took 8-10 months to happen.
And that’s another good point, unlike your HP ink jet that refuses to print when it’s out of yellow (wow can you be any more shameless you money grubbing…) there’s a very simple way to allow the user to print to the very end of the toner cart, even if it looks like shit, you’re allowed to.
And at the end of the day, what adult is printing in color so often that you need to be able to do it at home? And if you do need the ability to print in color at home, chances are you’re going to want something a little better than a shitjet printer from HP.
Edit: Brother also makes color laser printers, just be ready to shell out a few hundred. You get what you pay for though. I’m a pretty skeptical consumer and rarely do I recommend a brand as a blanket recommendation, but seriously, you can’t go wrong with a brother printer.
